Design, improvement and quality control on the final line. SOPEM is a French company that manufactures home automation components under the SOMFY brand. The company has over 8,000 employees in 60 locations. Production is organised mostly in the form of assembly nests, which in series form production lines.
STAGE 1

Challenge

The issue to be solved was quite a challenge. It was necessary to choose one that would not interfere too much with the existing production line. Also, a custom measurement module for capacitors had to be designed, as no suitable industrial solution was available on the market.

STAGE 2

Solution

The solution consisted in plugging in the production sequence the system testing the correctness of the assumption. Thanks to such a solution, complaints caused by incorrect plug assembly were reduced to zero and the production cycle time did not change. An electronic circuit was also designed which allowed OK/NOK checks on the capacitors.

A few words from SOPEM

Since 2017, we have been cooperating with IMI-Poland Ltd. in the scope of services of designing and automation of machines and devices in our plant in Niepołomice. During this period IMI performed a numbe of machine and equipment modifications for us, including the modification of the Radio Final Lines consisting in the implementation of a capacitor capacitance measurement system and a stator and LSU connection detection system, together with the provision of full documentation for the work performed.

The work was performed reliably, on time and with full cooperation with the project coordination team at SOPEM.
