STAGE 1

The problem

The company has very many production lines that were manufactured in the United States. As these were often lines delivered before 2003, the company, concerned for the safety of its employees, wanted to bring them into compliance with the essential requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Without expert engineering knowledge, it would not have been possible to carry out a comprehensive modernisation. Often, improving safety is unfortunately associated with slowing down the production cycle. The aim of the project was to improve safety without affecting production capacity.

STAGE 2

Solution

IMI POLAND company conducted a comprehensive audit of the production line for non-compliance with harmonised standards. After determining the elements that could pose a risk of accident, new safety systems, fencing and access platforms were designed. IMI-POLAND then installed them, commissioned them and issued EC declarations of conformity.
